Mumbles came to Gowerton on a perfect day for running rugby and the boys didn't disappoint this week running in 10 tries in a far improved performance.  Things got underway quickly and Sam Terry cantered through Mumbles' defence to open the scoring after 4 minutes.  Louis Davies converted.  After 8 minutes, Theo Evans made a fantastic run which led to Troy Davies scoring in the corner, the conversion was missed.  Further good play saw us dominate territory wise and the ball got moved along the line to fullback Steffan Richards who produced a neat little chip over the defencive line and Theo Evans was first to the jump and run 10 yds down the touchline to score in the corner, once again the conversion was missed.  That made it 17-0 after just 15 minutes.  Straight from the kick off the boys could smell more tries and follwing a fantastic run by Troy Davies, playing on the wing today, the ball reached Brandon Jones who sniped over for a try under the posts with Louis Davies converted to make it 24-0 after 16 minutes.  Further tries from Troy Davies on 20 minutes converted by Louis Davies , Louis Davies also getting in on the act scoring under the posts which he also converted after 24 minutes and finally Troy Daviers getting his hat trick of tries on the stroke of half time, again crashing over near the corner flag.  Halftime score 43-0.

The second half saw some changes to the line up and also some positional changes too and it seemed the boys took their foot of the gas a little to begin with.  9 minutes in a good move saw Jake Mann score with Louis Davies converting to bring up the half century of points. On 15 minutes a loose ball near the touchline on the halfway saw Brandon Jones fly kick the ball up field and it was a two horse race with a Mumbles defender to see who got to the ball first.  Brandon Jones managed a further kick which took the ball across the try line and managed to dive onto the ball to score a fantastic individual try right up the touchline.  The conversion ws missed by Matthew Davies.  A few minutes later saw Mumbles threaten our line for probably the first time in the match and their persistence was rewarded with a try near the posts with was converted to make it 55-7.  Deep into the second half and the boys were still hungry for more tries and we were camped on the Mumbles line before Zak Lodwig crashed over for a popular try with his team mates.  Not long after, the referee blew a little early for full time.  Final score Gowerton 60 Mumbles 7.  A far better performance both in attack and in defence than of late which promises good things to come with the up and coming fixtures over the next few weeks.
